The residential ecosystem is structured into independent blocks to ensure optimal utility management, privacy,and safety for all inmates.
ABOUT UCEV HOSTELS
University College of Engineering Villupuram (UCEV) is a Anna University Constituent College and provides Hostel accommodation to students in its campus hostels. There are 2 separate hostel blocks configured to provide a secure and focused academic ambiance. of these campus hostels, Block-1 is dedicated to Male students (Boys’ Hostel) and Block-2 is dedicated to Female students (Girls’ Hostel).Both Veg and Non Veg food and Separate Dinning Hall for both Boys and Girls Hostel.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- The Hostel Mess will be functioning throughout the academic year.
- Mess timings and dress regulation should be strictly followed.
- The Hostellers should give due respect to the hostel officials and mess servants.
- Guests are not entertained either in the mess or in the rooms.
- Audio and Video Systems will not be permitted for use in the Hostel Rooms.
- Usage of electrical appliances such as Iron Box, Heater, Induction Stove is strictly prohibited.
- Using Laptop / Computer may be permitted with prior permission from Deputy / Executive Warden / Warden.
- Hostel students are strictly advised to avoid allowing the day scholars to enter the hostel rooms.
- The hostellers are not permitted to stay in the rooms during college hours. If a hosteller is sick, he/she may be permitted to stay in the room after getting permission from the warden.
- The grievances if any, shall be represented only to the Deputy / Executive Warden / Warden.
- Unwarranted talk between the hostellers in the campus is strictly prohibited and any violation of this rule will be viewed seriously.
- Students who are allotted hostel accommodation will have to stay till the end of the academic year.
- The students of the hostel should keep a pollution free atmosphere in the hostel. Smoking and consumption of alcohol in the hostel rooms as well as in the campus are strictly prohibited. Students found violating this rule will be sent out of the hostel / college.
- Any student who is punished for misbehavior of any sort is not entitled for refund of deposits.
- The seniors teasing juniors (Ragging) is strictly prohibited. If any one is found misbehaving, they are viewed seriously and strict disciplinary action will be taken as per Ragging Cum Teasing Act.
- Students are responsible for the maintenance of all furniture and fixtures such as cot, lights, fans window glasses, toilet pipes and fittings. The hosteller should not deface the walls of the hostel building by writing or by pasting posters. If any damage is noticed, the inmates of the hostel will be fined.
- The utensils used in the mess, such as plates, steel tumblers or water jugs should never be brought out under any Violators would be punished severely.
- The parents are allowed to see their wards on Saturdays and Sundays.
- For permissions and special approval, the Hostel students (Boys & Girls) are advised to approach the Hostel Deputy / Executive Warden / Warden only between 04.30-05.00pm and 12.20-01.10pm every day.
- Girls can move out of the hostel between 08.00am and 12.30pm only on third Saturdays. If girls need permission to go out on any other day for genuine purposes, before (or) after the allowed timings they have to get prior permission from the Deputy / Executive Warden.
- Girl’s are not allowed to move out of the hostel on any day, without the prior permission of the Hostel Warden.
- The girls students having residence nearby of our University College of Engineering Villupuram around 60km radius, will not allowed to go their native place during week end.
- The girl student should be accompanied with their parent or guardian at the time of coming or leaving the hostels after getting proper permission.
- The inmates of the hostel should not indulge in any anti-social activities.
- The hostellers should not claim any deductions.
- The caution deposit will be refunded to the hostellers only when he/she comes for taking his T.C., C., etc, from the college office on completion of his/her course.
- The University College of Engineering Villupuram has every right to cancel the hostel admission or send the boy/girl out of the hostel, if they are not satisfied with their behaviour.
FOR BOYS HOSTELS
Boys should settle in their rooms at 10.30 P.M. for studies on normal days and at 11.00 P.M. on free night days (Saturdays). The boy students are not permitted to leave the campus or enter into the campus after 10.30 P.M. In extraordinary situations with valid reason they are permitted to enter the campus on surrendering their IDENTITY CARD to the security staff on duty.
FOR GIRLS HOSTEL
Inmates will be allowed to go home once in a month only if parents give written requisitions stating the reason, duration of stay etc. they will be permitted to go home only for valid reasons. The parents should apply to the deputy warden directly for permission to send the daughter home. The girl students are not permitted to go to guardian’s house for overnight stay, unless there is a specific written requisition from parents.
- Only 3 authorized visitors (including parents) are permitted. They should have the visitors cards with photo affixed (and signed by the associate warden) when they call on their wards. Visitors are requested to visit their wards only during visiting hours.
- Students should return to the hostel before 6.30 p.m.
- Roll call will be taken at 6.30 p.m.
- Students are advised not to wear costly jewelry items.
- Students are permitted to go out during holidays for a maximum duration of 4 hours.
- After signing in the register kept for the purpose. They have to get prior permission from the deputy warden, if they want to go out a duration exceeding four hours but limited to 6 hours.
Boys' Residential Block Room Infrastructure
The Boys’ Hostel consists of 74 rooms accommodating students in a secure and student-friendly environment. The hostel is equipped with essential amenities to ensure comfortable living and learning.

HOSTEL & MESS FEE STRUCTURE (ACADEMIC YEAR 2025–2026)
The hostel fee structure comprises room rent, establishment charges, and mess advance. The room rent and establishment charges are collected annually, while the mess charges are collected as per the hostel regulations.

RO water purification plants are available in both the Boys' and Girls' Hostels to provide safe drinking water for the residents
An Aavin outlet functions within the hostel campus to cater to the daily requirements of the students.
