Overview
The B.E. Mechanical Engineering (Tamil Medium) program was introduced in 2010 to provide quality engineering education through mother tongue by maintaining global academic standards. The department offers strong foundations in thermodynamics, mechanics, manufacturing, materials science, and design engineering.
Students gain practical exposure through advanced laboratories, machine shops, CAD/CAM facilities, workshops, and project-based learning activities. The curriculum integrates emerging technologies such as robotics, renewable energy systems, automation, and advanced manufacturing.
The bilingual learning approach helps students understand complex engineering concepts effectively while preparing them for industrial and professional environments.

Program Highlights :
Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, manufacturing systems, and thermal sciences.
- Complete engineering curriculum delivered with Tamil support.
- Bilingual teaching approach for better comprehension.
- Same laboratory facilities and academic standards as the Mechanical Engineering English-medium program.
- Enhanced conceptual understanding for rural and regional students.
The department successfully bridges regional accessibility with global engineering competence, producing graduates who are technically strong and professionally confident by mastering engineering in Tamil.
Our Tamil medium team works closely to cultivate an inclusive learning environment that respects cultural context and academic excellence.
Encouraging students to participate in technical design projects, manufacturing innovations, and engineering research activities.
Modern workshops and laboratories equipped with industrial machines, CAD/CAM systems, and engineering tools.
Curriculum focused on manufacturing processes, automation, thermal engineering, and emerging industrial technologies.
