Overview
The Department of Science and Humanities provides strong academic foundations in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English communication.
The department plays a crucial role in developing analytical thinking, communication skills, scientific temperament, and professional ethics among first-year engineering students which paves them to be a good human beings and good engineers with humanity and morality.

Experienced Faculty Members
• The department consists of sufficient professors and lecturers specializing in Mathematics,
Physics, Chemistry, and English.
• Many faculty members hold postgraduate and doctoral degrees and bring strong academic
expertise and teaching experience.
• They focus on strengthening conceptual clarity and analytical thinking among first-year
engineering students.
Student-Centric Teaching Approach
• Faculty members adopt interactive and participative teaching methods to make learning
engaging and effective.
• Emphasis is placed on bridging school-level science concepts with advanced engineering
applications.
• Special attention is given to slow learners through remedial classes and mentoring support.
Laboratory & Technical Support Staff
• Skilled laboratory assistants support Physics, Chemistry and English practical sessions,
ensuring safe and accurate experimentation.
• Technical staff maintain laboratory equipment in good working condition and assist students
during experiments and project demonstrations.
• Language lab coordinators help improve English communication, pronunciation, and
professional writing skills.
They are engaged to purchase instruments, tools, equipment and raw materials depending on
the curriculum and syllabic modifications.
Mentorship & Guidance
• Faculty members act as mentors, guiding students in academic performance, discipline, and
personal development.
• Regular interactions, tutorials, and counseling sessions help students adapt smoothly from
school mentality to the engineering education.
• Continuous evaluation and feedback systems are used to improve student learning
outcomes.
Professional Development
• Faculty members actively participate in Orientation programmes, Refresher course, Faculty
Development Programs (FDPs), Workshops, and Seminars at other Universities to develop
their teaching and Research skills .
• They continuously update their knowledge in emerging educational methodologies and
scientific advancements.
• Collaborative research with other departments ensures interdisciplinary exposure for staff
and students.
The Science and Humanities faculty form the backbone of the institution’s academic
structure, ensuring that every engineering student at UCEV develops a strong foundation in
core sciences, communication, and critical thinking skills essential for future success.
